Manage Configured Clusters

After applying the configurations and deploying core services, your cluster appears on the Admin UI Home page with its name.

On this page, you can view all clusters configured in Pulse, along with their status and cluster type (for example, Ambari, Cloudera, or others).

Key Features

  • Search: Search for clusters configured in Pulse by name or type.
  • Refresh: Refresh the list to view the most recent cluster information.
  • Add Cluster: Click + Add Cluster to add and configure a new cluster.

View Cluster Details

Click a cluster name to open its details page. On this page, you can view cluster information and Launch Pulse UI to explore observability insights.

Cluster Overview

Provides a quick summary of the cluster, including:

  • Cluster name and type
  • Pulse version
  • Retention period: Number of days data is stored in Pulse databases such as MongoDB, Victoria Metrics (VM), and Elastic

Core Services

  • In this section, the list of Core services deployed and their current status.
  • These services are essential for cluster operations.

Add-on Services

  • In this section, the list of available Add-on services and their status is shown
  • By default, no add-ons are installed.
  • You need to manually click Install to deploy add-ons as needed.
  • For details about deploying, see Deploy Pulse Add-on Services.

Configuration

The Configuration tab includes two editable files:

  • Vars YML: Defines Pulse agent and environment settings such as agent behavior, service endpoints, logging, and system resource limits.
  • Cluster Conf: Specifies cluster-level details like metadata, service versions, connection settings, and authentication parameters.

You can modify either file and click Reconfigure to apply the changes.

For more details, see Manage Configuration Files.

Upload Certificates

If your cluster uses Kerberos, HTTPS/TLS, LDAP, or Elastic (TLS), Pulse requires the respective certificates or configurations to authenticate and connect securely.

For more information, see Upload Certificates and Configurations.

Actions

Perform cluster-level actions directly from the Admin UI:

  • FSA Load: Load the latest File System Analyzer (FSA) data
  • FSA Process: Process FSA data for reporting and diagnostics
  • FSA Report: Generate reports from processed FSA data

For more details, see Manage Pulse-Specific Actions.

Apply the Changes

DB Push

Click DB Push to update configuration settings to the database. Running a DB Push applies those changes without performing a full cluster reconfiguration.

Note: The Reconfigure Cluster action automatically performs a DB Push. You don’t need to run DB Push separately after reconfiguring.

Reconfigure Cluster

Click Reconfigure Cluster to apply all configuration changes made to the cluster, including updates to VARs YAML, Cluster.conf, uploaded certificates, and other configuration files.

This action refreshes the cluster configuration in Pulse and updates the database so all nodes use the latest settings.
