Domain Management

The Domain Management feature in ADOC allows administrators to organize resources, assign user groups, and manage access control efficiently. This section provides a comprehensive guide to navigating, creating, and managing domains within the system.
Key Features of Domain Management
- Centralized Resource Organization: Group related resources into domains for easier management.
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Assign specific roles to user groups to control access at the domain level.
- Efficient Collaboration: Enable user groups to work within defined domains with tailored permissions.
Accessing the Domain Management Page
- Click on the Settings icon located on the left pane of the ADOC interface.
- Under the Domain Management section, click Domains.

Viewing Domains
The Domains page provides an overview of all existing domains.

Each domain displays the following details:
Column Name | Description |
---|---|
Name | The name of the domain. |
User Groups | List of user groups assigned to the domain. |
Resources | Resources associated with the domain, such as asset groups or report groups. |
Created By | The user or system responsible for creating the domain. |
Users can click on a domain name to view its details and associated user group role mappings.
Creating a Domain
Administrators can create a new domain to group resources and assign permissions.

Navigate to the domains page Settings > Domain Management > Domains.
Click the Create button. The Create Domain form appears
Fill in the domain details:
Name: Enter a unique name for the domain (required).
Description: Provide a brief description of the domain's purpose (optional).
Click Add Resource Group to select resources (e.g., asset or report groups) to associate with the domain.
Click Add to assign user groups and map their roles (e.g.,
resource_owner
,resource_editor
).Click Create to finalize the domain setup.
Editing a Domain
Users can view detailed information about a domain by clicking on its name. The Domain Details panel includes:
- User Group Role Mapping: Lists all user groups associated with the domain and their respective roles.
- Activity: Displays the creation and modification history.
To edit a domain:
- Click the Edit button in the Domain Details panel.
- Modify the domain's name, description, resources, or user group role mapping.
- Save the changes.
