Ambari

  • ODP-7322: Added a CentOS 7 build profile to make Postgres a soft dependency on higher RHEL versions (ODP-6422).

  • ODP-7250: Escaped LDAP pool.protocol quotes in ambari-env.sh.

  • ODP-7243: Wired krb5_conf_path into Kafka params to fix an empty -Djava.security.krb5.conf and the resulting ZooKeeper InvalidACL error.

  • ODP-7222: Fixed a Python 2 SyntaxError and a missing krb5_conf_path on install.

  • ODP-7220: Fixed test cases after bumping JUnit from 4.10 to 4.13.2.

  • ODP-6025: Handled rhel as part of the os_family mapping.

  • ODP-5632: Set stacks 3.2 and 3.3 with a minimum of JDK 11 and a maximum of JDK 17.

  • ODP-5625: Fixed the inability to override the Ranger DB connection URL from Ambari.

  • ODP-6706: Exposed manage_identities and handled the finalOperationStage check with an external KDC.

  • ODP-7028: Fixed a directory access issue with umask 0027.

  • ODP-7027: Fixed the inability to override the URL with KMS DB setup.

  • ODP-6785: Fixed a missing description caused by the bootstrap upgrade.

  • ODP-6422: Made PostgreSQL a soft requirement in the dependency.

  • ODP-6027: Encrypted the input password in Ambari setup.

  • ODP-6190: Allowed Ambari to override the password config type.

  • ODP-6245: Fixed the Ambari UI showing a password mismatch.

  • ODP-5762: Hardened UnknownConfiguration with contains/iter/bool/len.

  • ODP-7123: Added Spark351 mpack upgrade support.

Hadoop

  • ODP-7266: Included jaxb-api in the hadoop-client-runtime shade.

  • ODP-7206: Bumped commons-io to 2.22.0.

  • ODP-7053: Derived hadoop.version from the odp.release.version property.

Druid

  • ODP-7106: Added an option to toggle case sensitivity when IcebergInputSource reads columns from the Iceberg catalog (apache/druid#16496).

  • ODP-7037: Changed the Hive version to 4.0.1.

  • ODP-6966: Added the odp.release.version property to the flink-connector-hive POM.

  • ODP-6966: Bumped stale hive.version dependencies to the 3.2.3.7-2 release line.

HBase

  • ODP-7246: Bumped commons-io and commons-lang3 to resolve NoSuchMethodError failures.

Hive

  • OCR-2541: Fixed the open-txn high-water-mark drop and gap-fill after empty TXNS cleanup.

  • OCR-2406: Rejected cross-product map joins when basic stats were incomplete, preventing unsafe broadcast budget estimation.

  • OCR-2406 | HIVE-29613: Made cross-product joins fall back to a single-reducer shuffle merge when the small-side row estimate marginally exceeded hive.xprod.mapjoin.small.table.rows.

  • ODP-7120: Reverted HIVE-23745 ("Avoid copying userpayload in task communicator").

  • ODP-7120: Reverted HIVE-28123 ("Add generated Protobuf code for the 3.24.4 upgrade").

  • ODP-6986: Made Hive compatible with ZooKeeper 3.5.10.

  • ODP-6986: Made Hive compatible with Hadoop 3.2.

Impala

  • ODP-7037: Changed the Hive version to 4.0.1.

Kafka

  • ODP-7205: Replaced the deprecated Jackson fields() call with properties() to fix the Scala fatal-warning build failure.

  • ODP-6274: Pointed Kafka connector versions to ODP 3.2.3.7-2.

Kafka3

Knox

  • ODP-6836: Fixed an NPE by parsing a long string in multiple parts instead of in a single call.

  • ODP-7037: Changed the Hive version to 4.0.1.

NiFi / NiFi Registry

  • ODP-6828: Fixed the compilation failure caused by curator.version.

  • ODP-6885: Added remote-charset as a parameter.

Oozie

  • OCR-2572: Excluded the Log4j 2 bridge, pinned libthrift to 0.16.0, and dropped jline from the Sqoop and HCatalog sharelibs.

  • ODP-7143: Reverted the auxiliary commit that reverted individual files from 5644ad0e.

Pinot

  • ODP-7334: Fixed the "Invalid signature file digest for Manifest main attributes" failure.

Ranger

  • ODP-7300: Added the opentelemetry-common dependency for the HBase test connection.

  • ODP-7094: Improved Ranger UserSync LDAP with SASL binding.

  • ODP-7037: Changed the Hive version to 4.0.1.

  • ODP-7044: Matched the OpenTelemetry version to HBase to fix a ClassNotFoundException in the HBase plugin.

Schema Registry

  • ODP-7195: Resolved the Guava 32.x variant ambiguity in the ranger-plugin build.

  • Enforced netty-all to resolve to 4.1.133.Final.

Spark2

  • OCR-2498: Enabled the kafka.group.id feature in Spark 2.

  • OCR-2525: Bundled the Kafka 0.10 DStream connector into the Spark 2 distribution.

  • ODP-7079: Updated the PySpark session to support applying extension rules.

  • Reverted OSV-11397 ("Excluding org.iq80.snappy:snappy to fix CVE-2024-36124").

  • ODP-7072: Bridged legacy Hive timestamps for native spark.sql JSON reads.

  • ODP-7038: Added JDK 11 runtime support in Python 2.

  • OCR-2492: Fixed a NoClassDefFoundError for InternalFutureFailureAccess.

Note: after the reverts were removed, one or more new CVEs were apparently introduced in Spark 2 in this release relative to 6-2.

Spark3

  • OCR-2525: Added the Kafka 0.10 DStream connector to the Spark 3 distribution.

Sqoop

  • OCR-2572: Excluded the Log4j 2 bridge and forced libthrift 0.16.0 for Hive Metastore compatibility.

Trino

  • ODP-6890: Bumped Netty to 4.1.133.Final.
