Install Kudu using Ambari Mpack

This page describes installing Kudu using the Ambari Mpack.

Steps to Install

1. Download the Kudu Mpack from the Apache Kudu Package.
2. SCP the mpack to the Ambari Server.
3. Run the following commands to install it.

ambari-server install-mpack --mpack=ambari-mpacks-kudu-1.17.tar.gz -vambari-server restart

4. Log in to the Ambari UI and add the Kudu service.

5. Select the hosts for Kudu Masters and Tablet Servers.

   1. You must select at least one of each, with a recommended maximum of up to 100 tablet servers.
   2. You must select an odd number for a minimum of 3 master servers.
