Configure Hadoop Cluster Changes
This page describes how to update the cluster configuration so that Pulse can collect Hadoop service metrics for monitoring.
The configurations include the following, based on the services:
Configuring HDFS, MapReduce, YARN, etc. for Pulse
Configuring Access Privileges for Non-HDFS users
Enabling JMX (Java Management Extensions) for metrics
Setting up ACLs (Access Control Lists)
Placing HooK JARs for query and event capture
Updating service-specific properties
Note You need to restart the Hadoop services to apply the changes.
Prepare SSL and Authentication Files for Remote JMX
Place the following files in their required directories before enabling SSL and Basic Authentication on the remote JMX port:
jmxremote.password
jmxremote.access
truststore.jks
keystore.jks
Apply Configuration by Distribution
The cluster configuration changes or updates needed vary by Hadoop distribution. Some changes apply to all Hadoop distributions.
