Deprecation

Deprecation means Acceldata is notifying users that the service is planned to be phased out and removed in a future release. While deprecated, the service remains available but will no longer receive new enhancements.

Removal means the service is no longer supported or available in the product starting from the specified release.

Version 4.1.x

In Pulse 4.1.x, the following services continue to be in deprecation and some of them are removed.

Deprecated Microservices

• The ad-graphql microservice is deprecated due to the redesigned Pulse UI, which provides improved interaction and no longer depends on the GraphQL service.

  • The ad-pulse-ui replaces the GraphQL service.

• The ad-dashplots microservice is deprecated as part of the UI architecture changes. The new Pulse UI uses updated DashPlots that do not rely on the legacy ad-dashplots service.

  • The ad-dashplots-ui replaces the ad-dashplots service.

• The ad-pg microservice is deprecated along with the deprecation of ad-graphql and ad-dashplots. The new DashPlots implementation uses an updated PostgreSQL image with revised schemas.

  • The ad-pg-ui replaces the ad-pg service.

Removed Microservices

• The ad-proxy service has been removed in Pulse 4.1.x.

  • This service previously acted as a reverse proxy for ad-graphql and ad-pulse-ui before those services supported native SSL/TLS.
  • Since both services now provide native SSL/TLS support, the proxy layer is no longer required.

• The ad-director service and its associated actions are deprecated in Pulse v4.1.0.

  • The ad-director service functioned as an action service that executed playbooks on cluster hosts and supported scheduled actions.
  • The new ad-axnserver service provides all existing ad-director capabilities and additional enhancements. Users should migrate to ad-axnserver.
  • Old Actions:
    • All the old actions have been removed the product or UI. For details on accessing the new actions:
      • Upgrade to Version 4.1.0
      • Manage and Configure Actions.

Version 4.0.x

Effective 4.0.x, the following services have been deprecated.
