Install Pulse Agents

This page helps you deploy Pulse Hydra Agent on all Hadoop cluster nodes where services are installed.

Pulse Agents collect the system and service level data from Hadoop services and send it to the databases.

The Pulse Hydra Agent includes:

• Node Agent
• Logs Agent
• JMX Agent
• AXN Agent
• YARNMetrics Agent
• Impala Agent
• JMX-Trans Agent
• Hydra Agent
• Profiler Agent

Key Details

• You can deploy the Hydra Server in the Pulse Server or Namespace to configure, manage, and monitor these agents.
• The Hydra Agent, running on each Hadoop node, applies the configuration and reports agent status back to the Hydra Server.

Deployment

The deployment steps vary based on your Hadoop cluster distribution, CDP or Non-CDP (HDP or ODP).

To get started, choose one of the ways based on your cluster distribution:

• Install Agents on Non-CDP Cluster Nodes
• Install Agents on CDP Cluster Nodes
