Generic Functionalities
Some of these common features appear on all Pulse UI pages and help refine metrics or results.
| Functionality | Description |
|---|---|
| Timestamp | Choose an option to select a time period (For example, Today, Last 12 hours, Last 3 Months, etc.) or choose a “custom date and time” and click Apply. |
| Service Status | This service status icon denotes the status of the Hadoop services running on the node. A notification of 1 indicates that one service is down on that node. Click the icon to know which service is down. |
| Refresh the status | Click the ⏵ (Play) and ⏸ (Pause) buttons at the top left of the page to toggle between play and pause, respectively. Click the Play button to refresh the cluster status every ten seconds and the Pause button to temporarily stop the refresh. |
| Search for records | Click on the Search bar and select the required parameters from the drop-down menu for the value you are searching for. |
| Filters | Enable or disable this option to apply or remove filters on the displayed data. |
| RM Live View | Enabled (default): Fetches a real-time streaming view from YARN ResourceManager. The UI shows only current resource usage. Historical workloads or completed jobs are not displayed. Disable: Displays all workloads and jobs, including completed ones, using historical metrics stored in the cluster. |
| Save a Search Query | Click the Save Search icon to store a query for future use. |
| Saved Search Queries | Use the search drop-down menu to view and select previously saved queries. |
