Configure Optimizer Components

This page describes how to configure the application fingerprinting patterns, the YARN Optimizer Agent for metrics collection and optimization, and the Optimizer settings that define how optimization calculations are performed.

Steps

1. In the Pulse UI, select YARN Optimizer from the left navigation bar.

2. On the Dashboard page, set the time range and step interval to update the charts and display the latest data.

3. You can configure the following on different tabs.

   1. Fingerprinting Repository: Define job naming patterns and classification rules for applications such as Spark and Tez/Hive. For details, see Configure Fingerprinting of Applications.

   2. Optimizer: Set optimization logic, thresholds, and rules that determine how YARN resource optimization is calculated and applied. For details, see Configure YARN Optimizer Service.

   3. YARN Agent: Configure metrics collection, authentication, monitoring frequencies, and agent behavior for YARN optimization. For details, see Configure YARN Metrics Agent.
