Multi-Distribution Cluster Support in Pulse
You can configure different (Heterogeneous) Hadoop cluster distributions on a single instance of Pulse. Supported combinations include:
- HDP/HDF (managed by Ambari), CDP/CDH (managed by Cloudera Manager), and ODP (managed by Ambari) can be configured together.
- Standalone clusters (not managed by Ambari or Cloudera Manager) can be used alongside managed clusters such as HDP, HDF, CDH, or CDP.
- Any combination of standalone services is supported. For example, Standalone Kafka, Standalone NiFi, and Standalone Spark can run together.
- All the clusters must have unique nodes configured. Nodes shared between distinct clusters will cause unexpected results in observing the clusters, hence it is NOT SUPPORTED.
Multiple cluster Kerberos Support
- Multiple clusters with a single Kerberos server is supported out of the box.
- Multiple clusters with their own individual Kerberos servers for each of the cluster is also supported with a very complex architecture and deployment strategy.
