Configure Extra Hosts

This page describes how to configure extra hosts used in the Pulse deployment that are not managed within Kubernetes.

The Pulse database services run on virtual machines (VMs) outside the Kubernetes cluster. These external database hosts must be connected to Pulse so the platform can:

  • Process and analyze data
  • Enable service-to-service communication
  • Display metrics and insights in the Pulse UI

You can add these external hosts (for example, database hosts) directly from the Pulse Admin UI.

Before you configure a cluster, make sure that all required host entries are available to the Pulse components.

Host entries added through the Admin UI Console are applied only to pods managed by the controller manager. If you need to add host aliases to the accelo-manager pod, update the accelo-manager deployment manifest and redeploy the workload.

Steps

  1. In the Pulse Admin UI, go to the top-right corner and click Admin ▸ Hosts.
  2. On the Hosts page, add the IP address and host name of each database server.
  3. Click + Add to include multiple IP addresses and host names as needed.

Click on Manage Hosts

Add the required Hosts and IPs:
