Enhancements
Info
This section consists of new features and enhancements introduced in this release.
- Configurable Lookback Window for YARN Optimizer Metrics: This releaseimproves YARN Optimizer dashboard performance by introducing a configurable lookback window for overcommitted container metrics.
- By default, the Containers Increased metric uses a one-hour lookback window, independent of the selected dashboard date range.
- To change the default lookback window, contactAcceldata Support. For more information, see Configure Increased Container Lookback Window.
- Pulse UI HTTP Access Logging: This release introduces per-request HTTP access logging for Pulse UI to support security auditing and monitoring. The access logs capture client IP addresses, authenticated usernames, HTTP request details, response status codes, GraphQL operation details, and request duration.
- Pulse automatically redacts sensitive information, such as passwords, tokens, and API keys, from the access logs.
- You can view the access logs through the Pulse UI container's standard output (stdout) by using Docker or Podman commands.
- For details, see HTTP Access Logging for Pulse UI.
- Encrypted CM and Ambari Passwords in MongoDB: Pulse now encrypts Cloudera Manager (CM) and Ambari passwords stored in the MongoDB
cluster_infocollection. Previously, these passwords were stored in plain text. This enhancement helps prevent unauthorized access to sensitive cluster credentials.
- Security Improvements:Enhanced Pulse container security by applying Center for Internet Security (CIS) Docker Benchmark recommendations for container privileges, filesystem access, and network configurations.
- MongoDB Disk Usage Configuration: This release introduces the MONGO_ALLOW_DISK_USE environment variable for the ad-pulse-ui service. When enabled, this variable allows MongoDB to use temporary disk space for find and aggregation operations that exceed applicable in-memory limits. For details, see Enable MongoDB Disk Usage.
