Assets Similarity (Beta)
This feature is currently in beta phase and is subject to change. Functionality, design, and implementation may be updated in future releases based on user feedback and ongoing development.
The Assets Similarity functionality serves the purpose of examining the degree of similarity between columns across multiple tables within a tenant. It achieves this objective by conducting a thorough analysis, computing similarity percentages for each combination of columns across the tables. Once these percentages are calculated for individual column pairs, the feature consolidates this information to derive a holistic metric known as Table Similarity.
This metric provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall resemblance between tables by integrating the similarity percentages calculated for their corresponding columns. In essence, it offers a quantitative measure of how closely related the tables are in terms of their column data.
Filter by Data Source
This filtering option allows you to retrieve tables from a specific data source based on your selection criteria.
Search Panel
You can quickly locate a specific asset by entering its name into the search panel and pressing enter. The Search Panel provides a rapid means of listing particular assets.
Assets Similarity Detection
Assets Similarity Detection page displays all tables from a tenant that have undergone analysis with the asset similarity function. What you see in the list depends on the search and filters you have used. Below is a description of the different tabs in Assets Similarity Detection.

Asset Similarity Details
By clicking on a specific table, you will be taken to the Details page. From there, you can use the filter panel to search for another asset or locate an asset using the search panel.
By toggling the Similarity within the same datasource option, you can view assets that are similar to the selected table within the same datasource.
Below is a description of the different tabs in the Details page.

View Similarity
To see the column similarity details, click the View Similarity button.
You will be able to view the similarity between columns in both tables, along with the percentage indicating the degree of similarity between them. This feature enables you to gauge how closely aligned the columns are.
Access Asset Similarity through Discover Page
You can also access the asset similarity of a table through the Discover page. In the Management tab on the left panel of the page, you'll find the Asset Similarity section located at the bottom.
