Virtual Data Source

ADOC allows you to create virtual data sources. You can leverage the Data Reliability capability in ADOC, using a virtual data source. You can use an existing Data Plane or create a new Data Plane to use the Data Reliability capability.

A virtual data source dos not require you to connect to an actual data source. You need to just create and name a virtual data source. You can use the cross data source join feature of ADOC to join discrete data sets by using the virtual data source created here.

Adding a Virtual Data Source

To add a Virtual Data Source:

  1. Click Register from the left pane.
  2. Click Add Data Source.
  3. Select the Virtual Data Source. Virtual Data source basic Details page is displayed.
  1. Enter a name for the data source in the Data Source name field.
  2. (Optional) Enter a description for the Data Source in the Description field.
  3. Enable the Data Reliability capability by switching on the toggle switch.
  4. Select a Data Plane from the Select Data Plane drop-down menu. To create a new Data Plane, click Setup Dataplane.
  5. Click Submit.

A new Virtual Data source is added to ADOC.

You can add data from various data sources in your virtual Data source in the Data Reliability window. For more information, on how to add data in virtual data source, see Add Visual View document.
