Search Acceldata Docs in ChatGPT Using the MCP Server

Acceldata Documentation exposes a built-in MCP server that lets AI assistants like ChatGPT search and read your published documentation directly. These read-only tools require no authentication — they only expose content that is already publicly published.

There is a separate MCP server per product, so a connector only ever searches that product's docs:

Product

MCP Server URL

ADOC

https://docs.acceldata.io/mcp

Pulse

https://docs.acceldata.io/pulse/mcp

ODP

https://docs.acceldata.io/odp/mcp

A single connector supports one MCP Server URL. To use more than one product, create a separate connector for each.

Enable Developer/Advanced Mode in ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT → click your User Icon → Settings
  2. Open Connectors / Advanced Settings
  3. Turn Developer Mode ON

Register the MCP Server

  1. Settings → Connectors → Create New → Custom Connector / MCP Server
  2. Fill in:
    • Name: e.g. Acceldata ADOC Docs (or Pulse / ODP)
    • Description: Search and read Acceldata's published documentation
    • MCP Server URL: the URL for that product from the table above
    • OAuth Settings:Not required for read-only doc search — leave authentication off
    • Trust the Connector: mark it Trusted (custom connectors aren't verified by default)

Tip

open the URL in a browser (e.g. https://docs.acceldata.io/pulse/mcp) to preview the server and its tools.

Use It

In the ChatGPT search bar, click ➕ → More → Explore Apps, choose your connector, then ask a question. ChatGPT calls the tools and answers, citing the source pages.

What the tools do

  • search_published_docs — search the docs (ranked results, snippets, URLs)
  • get_published_doc — read a page's full content
  • get_page_metadata, list_products / list_tabs / list_sections / list_pages — navigate the hierarchy
