xObserve Overview

xObserve is the observability solution for xDP. It provides centralized monitoring, logging, tracing, and operational insights across xDP infrastructure components and supported applications.

xObserve collects and analyzes metrics, logs, traces, and operational telemetry from the data plane to help administrators:

• Monitor platform health and availability.
• Analyze application and infrastructure logs.
• Track resource utilization and workload performance.
• Troubleshoot operational issues using dashboards and AI-powered diagnostics.
• Gain centralized visibility into xCompute, xStore, and supported applications.

Observability

xObserve provides observability for the following xDP components and services.

xCompute

xCompute is the compute layer of xDP that runs data processing workloads, queries, and pipelines using engines such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Trino, and JupyterHub.

xObserve collects telemetry from xCompute clusters to provide visibility into:

• Cluster health and availability
• Resource utilization
• Workload performance
• Application activity
• Infrastructure and operational events

xStore

xStore is the catalog and metadata layer of xDP. It provides centralized metadata management and connectivity to storage systems such as HDFS, Apache Iceberg, Amazon S3, and S3-compatible object storage.

xObserve collects observability data from xStore to provide visibility into:

• Service health and availability
• JVM and resource utilization
• API activity and performance
• Database connectivity
• Operational events and logs

Applications

xObserve supports observability for applications deployed on xCompute.

Application-specific observability connectors collect metrics, logs, traces, and operational telemetry and stream them to xObserve for monitoring and analysis.

Supported applications can be monitored through centralized dashboards, logs, and AI-powered diagnostics.
