Track Application Incidents and Alerts

Pulse highlights incidents that affect YARN applications and links them to related alerts.

When a monitoring condition or rule is met for the duration and number of times you configure, Pulse raises an alert. Each time the alert condition is met, Pulse creates an incident entry.

Steps

  1. In the Pulse UI, select YARN from the left navigation bar > Application Explorer.
  2. Click the Incidents option (bell icon) at the top.
  3. Pulse displays an incident tile for each alert.

Each tile shows:

  • Alert name
  • Number of incidents with severity
  • View Incidents link

For example:

  • Hive_HiveServer2 __Endpoint Check, 2 Critical Incidents, View Incidents
  • → Indicates that two incidents were raised by the Hive Server2 Endpoint Check alert.
  • Click View Incidents to open the Incidents window, which displays all incidents, including the number of occurrences and detailed alert information.

Incidents Format

Each incident is displayed in the following format:

  • Incident Name – Name of the incident.
  • Time – Start and end time of the incident.
  • Status – Indicates whether the incident is in status Raised or Cleared.

The following image shows an example of the incident format.
