Configure Notifications
Configure notification channels to receive updates about action plan execution, completion status, failures, and timeout events.
Notifications help administrators monitor action execution and respond quickly to operational issues.
Navigation
In the xObserve UI, navigate to Actions > Actions.
Click Create Action.
On the Create Action page, expand the Notifications section.
Select one or more notification channels. Once the channels are created in the xDP UI, they get listed here.

- Go to the xDP UI and select Alerts in the left pane.
- Click Alerts > Channel Groups.
- Click New Channel Group.
- Add the details.

Save the action plan.
The selected channels receive notifications whenever the action plan is executed.
Supported Notification Channels
The notification list includes:
- Channel Name: Displays the notification channel name.
- Description: Displays the channel description.
- Channel Type: Displays the notification mechanism.
Select one or more channels to receive execution notifications.
Email Notifications
Configure email notifications to receive action execution updates through email.
- Enable the Use Default Email Configuration option to use the default email configuration to send notifications.
- Type an Email address(es) in the Email To box.
- (Optional) You can CC and BCC the notifications to others as well.
Slack Notifications
Configure Slack notifications to receive action execution updates in Slack channels.
- Enable the Use Default Slack Configuration option to use the default Slack configuration to send notifications.
- Enter the Slack Webhook URL to get notifications on a Slack channel. You can specify multiple Slack Webhook URLs for different groups or channels by adding commas to separate them.
JIRA Notifications
Configure JIRA notifications to automatically create issues when an action execution event occurs.
- Enable the Use Default Slack Configuration option to use the default JIRA configuration to send notifications.
- Project Key: Enter the project key in which you want to create the JIRA.
- Issue Type: Enter the issue type for JIRA.
- Labels: Enter labels for the JIRA.
- Priority: Enter a priority for the JIRA.
When configuring the default notifications for JIRA, you need to mention the REST API JIRA URL.
